Flash 5

 

File

 

New:

To create a new flash file.

File – New.

 

Open:

To open an existing file.

File – Open – Select the file name – open

 

Open as Library:

To get the library from another file.

File – Open As Library– Select The File Name – Open

 

 

Close:

To close the file only

File – Close

 

 

 

 

Save: 

To save the project and files.

File – Save – Any Name – Save.

 

Save As:

To save and make another file either in new location or new name.

File – Save As – Any Name – Save.

 

 

Revert:

To go to last saved position of the file.

File – Revert.

 

 

Import:

To get the picture or sound file on the page.  

File – Import– Select The File Name – Import

 

 

Export Movies:

Make the movie for to play in the player application

File – Export – Write The File Name – Save

 

 

 

 

Export Image:

To make the image for another application.

File – Export Image – Write The File Name – Save

 

 

Publish Settings

File – Publish Settings – Choose Type – Now Select the Settings – Ok.

 

Publish Preview:

To make a preview of animation for web or another application

File – Publish Preview.

 

Publish:

To make a file for web or another purpose application.   

File – Publish.

 

Page Setup:

To set the page before print out.

File – Page Setup – Select the Page Size – Select the margin - Ok

 

Print Preview:

To make a print preview before the printout.

File – Print Preview.

 

Print:

To make print outs.

File – Print – Select the Printer – Select the Number of Copies – Print.

 

Send

To send the file in another application.

File – Send.

 

Exit:

To close the application.

File – Exit

 

 

Edit

 

Undo:

One step backward.

Step: Edit – Undo.

 

Redo:

One step forward.

Step: Edit – Redo.

 

 

 

 

Cut:

To cut and paste at desired position

Step: Select the Object - Edit – Cut – Edit – Paste.

 

Copy:

To make another copy and paste at desired position.

Step: Select the Object - Edit – Copy – Edit – Paste.

 

Paste:

After cut or copy you have to paste it to get the result.

Step: Edit – Paste.

 

 

Paste in Place:

After cut or copy to paste at the value at copied position.

Step: Edit – Paste in Place.

 

 

Paste Special:

Step: Edit – Paste Special – Select Picture - Paste.

 

 

 

Clear:

To delete the object.

Step: Select the Object -  Edit – Clear.

 

 

Duplicate:

To make a duplicate of the object or shape.

Step: Edit – Duplicate.

 

 

Select All:

To select the all objects at once on the page.

Step: Edit – Select All.

 

 

Cut Frames:

To cut the selected frames from the time line and paste in another frame.

Step: Select the frames - Edit – Cut Frames – Edit -  Paste Frames.

 

 

Copy Frames:

To cut the selected frames from the time line and paste in another frame.

Step: Select the frames - Edit – Copy Frames – Edit -  Paste Frames.

 

 

Paste Frames:

After cut or copy the frames you need to paste it on the time line.

Step: Edit – Edit -  Paste Frames.

 

 

 

Edit Symbols:

To modify the converted object symbols.

Step: Edit – Edit Symbols.

 

Edit Selected:

To modify the selected converted object symbols.

Step: Select the Object - Edit – Edit Symbols.

 

 

Preferences:

To set the settings of Flash.

Step: Edit – Preference.

 

Keyboard Shortcuts:

To get or set the keyboard shortcuts for Flash 5.

Step: Edit – Keyboard Shortcuts.

 

 

View

 

Goto:

To toggle between the scenes and frames.

Step: View – Goto – Choose any Option.

 

Zoom In:

To enlarge the view of the page.

Step: View – Zoom In.

 

Zoom Out:

To shorten or smaller view the page.

Step: View – Zoom Out.

 

 

Magnification:

To magnify the page with desired percentage.

Step: View – Magnification – Select any Option.

 

 

Outlines:

To get the outlines of the object only.

Step: View – Outlines.

 

 

 

 

Timeline:

To disable or enable the timeline from the project.

Step: View – Timeline.

 

 

Work Area:

To disable or enable the Work Area from the project.

Step: View – Work Area.

 

 

Rulers:

To disable or enable the Ruler from the project.

Step: View – Zoom In.

 

 

Grid:

To set, disable or enable the Grid from the project.

Step: View – Grid.

 

 

Guides:

To set, disable or enable the Guide lines from the project.

Step: View – Guides.

 

 

 

 

Snap to Objects:

To catch and attach the object with another object.

Step: View – Snap to Object.

 

 

Hide Panels:

To hide the editable panels.

Step: View – Hide Panels.

 

 

Insert

 

Convert to Symbol

to convert an existing object into symbol.

Step: Select any object - Insert – Convert to Symbol – Select Movie Clip / Button / Graphic – Write a name - Ok.

 

 

New Symbol

To make a new symbol from an object.

Step: Insert – New Symbol – Select Movie Clip / Button / Graphic – Write a name - Ok.

 

 

 

 

 

Layer

To insert a new layer to the time line.

Step: Insert – Layer.

 

Motion Guide

To restrict the path and movement of an object

Step: Insert – Motion Guide.

 

Frame

It is the place to hold the object and texts.

Step: Insert – Frame.

 

Remove Frames

To delete the frames from the time line.

Step: Select the Frame - Insert – Remove Frames.

 

Keyframe

To denote the frame for animation procedure.

Step: Insert – Keyframe.

 

Blank Frame

It will place a blank new frame on the time line.

Step: Insert – Blank Frame.

 

 

Clear Keyframe

To delete the denoted frame from the the time line.

Step: Select the Keyframe - Insert – Clear Keyframe.

 

Create Motion Tween

To make same type of frames with little bit of change in each frames.

Step:  Select the Keyframe - Insert – Create Motion Tween.

 

Scene

To insert a new scene in the project.

Step: Insert – Scene.

 

Remove Scene

To delete a scene from the current project.

Step: Select the Scene - Insert – Remove Scene.

 

Modify

 

Instance

To show or hide the instance window panel.

Step: Select the object - Modify – Instance.

 

 

 

 

Frame

To show or hide the frame window panel.

Step: Modify – Frame.

 

Layer

To modify the layer properties.

Step: Insert – Layer.

 

Scene

To show or hide the scene window panel.

Step: Insert – Scene.

 

Movie

To adjust the movie size, speed and background color.

Step: Insert – Movie – Select the option – Ok.

 

 

Transform

To scale, rotate or flip the image.

Step: Insert – Transform – Select the Option – OK.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Arrange

To bring the object in front of another object or send back to another object.

Step: Insert – Arrange – Send Back / Bring Forward.

 

Reverse Frames

To reverse the frame or to convert the frame to key frame or blank keyframe.

Step: Insert – Reverse Frames.

 

Group

To make a group of some objects into one.

Step: Select the Objects - Insert – Group.

 

Ungroup

To make different objects from a grouped object.

Step: Select the Object - Insert – Ungroup.

 

Break Apart

To break down a vector image to raster image for editing purpose.

Step: Select the Object - Insert – Break Apart.

 

 

 

Text

 

Font

To change the selected font with another style font.

Step: Select the Text – Text – Font – Change the Font.

 

Size

To change the size of the text.

Step: Select the Text – Text – Size – Change the Size.

 

Style

To make the text as bold, italic, underline etc.

Step: Select the Text – Text – Style – Change Any Style.

 

 

Align

To change the alignment of the text as right, center,left or justify.

Step: Select the Text – Text – Align – Change the option.

 

 

Tracking

To change or allow some space between words and lines.

Step: Select the Text – Text – Tracking – Change the Option.

 

 

 

 

Character

To change the attributes of the text.

Step: Text – Character.

 

 

Paragraph

To set the paragraph and its options.

Step: Text – Paragraph.

 

 

 

Options

To view the text Option.

 

Step: Text – Text.

 

 

Control

 

Play

To play the animation in project window.

Control – Play.

 

Rewind

To play the animation in reverse order.

Control – Rewind.

 

 

Step Forward

to move forward as one frame in animation.

Control – Step Forward.

 

 

Step Backward

To move backward as one frame.

Control – Step Backward.

 

 

Test Movie

to test the movie in flash player window.

Control – Test Movie.

 

 

Debug Movie

To find the errors in action scripts in flash player windows.

Control – Debug Movie.

 

 

Test Scene

It will play only the current scene, not the whole movie.

Control – Test Scene.

 

 

Loop Playback

It will play the movie endlessly in a loop.

Control – Loop Play Back .

 

 

Play All Scenes

It will allow to play all scenes available in the movie.

Control – Play All Scenes.

 

 

Mute Sounds

To turn off the sound for the animation.

Control – Mute Sounds.

 

 

Window

 

New Window

To make a new window of the same window.

Windows - New Window

 

Toolbars

To activate or deactivate the current toolbars.

Windows – Toolbars – Choose Any One.

 

 

 

 

Tools

To get or discard the tools window.

To get or discard the desired panel window.

To get four default panel  sets.
